Clinical Approach

I provide individual, family and group mental health therapy to children, adolescents, adults who are hearing, Deaf, Hard of Hearing or DeafBlind. I provide clinical supervision to aspiring clinical social workers and professional clinical counselors. I use a systems perspective in treatment, which incorporates multiple aspects of a client's life into treatment. I also use cognitive behavioral, experiential, and mindfulness approaches in my work. I make every effort to be culturally competent and, when possible, match client's linguistic needs.

Areas of experience and interest

I have interests and experience in providing play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My particular area of interest is with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind adolescents, young adults, and their families. I have experience providing training locally, regionally and nationally in areas of ethics, boundaries, trauma and work with the Deaf/Hard of Hearing/DeafBlind communities. I have 20+ years of experience learning and working within the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind communities.
