Powerful tools for caregivers
We’re joining forces with several other organizations to highlight and serve the needs of caregivers, especially those who provide dementia care for older adults at home.
Dorothea Harris, who heads our Caregiver Services for African American Families, is starting a program called "Powerful Tools for Caregivers." Here, Martha Williams, one of the volunteer facilitators involved, describes the new service at a recent event. Contact Dorothea for more information firstname.lastname@example.org or call 952-945-4175.
The needs and services provided by Volunteers of America-Minnesota/Wisconsin are described in a PBS Documentary — Caring for Mom and Dad — narrated by Meryl Streep. Click here to view an additional segment of the documentary filmed at Monroe Village in Minneapolis with Dorothea and her clients, including Rochelle Harris, daughter of Odester Robinson, who also is featured in the film.
