VOA MN/WI's Elder Connection service collaborated with partners to host the second annual Starry Night Prom, a celebration designed to combat social isolation and foster meaningful connections among older adults in our community.
Held under twinkling lights and a night sky-inspired theme, the event welcomed older adults dressed in their finest attire, ready to dance, laugh, and make lasting memories. The prom is more than just a party—it’s a powerful reminder that joy, friendship, and hope are timeless.
Many attendees shared that they had never experienced a prom before. One of our attendees was accompanied by her grandson, who missed his prom because of COVID-19. She herself missed her prom due to polio. Together, they attended a prom for the first time.
