Ex-offender mentoring — Amicus
Volunteers of America of Minnesota and Wisconsin, Locations include: Amicus, MN Correctional Facilities, Hennepin County ACF, and AccessAbility INCAmicus Ex-offender Mentoring has been training volunteers to serve as mentors for individual inmates across Minnesota for nearly 50 years. By visiting, writing, and listening to their One to One matches, our volunteers have helped thousands of ex-offenders successfully transition back into society.

These Spirituality sessions focus on helping our residents to establish core values and utilize the viewpoints of and information from many religions and spiritual traditions. Opportunities to assist with weekly Bible studies or Christian based Chapel services on agency are also available.

SAIL (55+) — RSVP
Volunteers of America of Minnesota and Wisconsin, Mora, MN and Minneapolis, MNRSVP seeks volunteers 55+ for SAIL, an exercise and education program for older adults meeting twice a week for 12 weeks or as an ongoing program. The program includes a combination of aerobic conditioning, progressive strength training and balance exercises shown to impact the risk of falling. It was developed in Washington State through public health with support from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. (CDC).

CarFit Technician (55+) — RSVP
Volunteers of America of Minnesota and Wisconsin, Mora, MN and Minneapolis, MNRSVP seeks volunteers 55+ to help increase older driver safety by becoming a CarFit technician. CarFit events rely on trained volunteers to take drivers through a 12-point safety check-up, focusing on seat belt use, mirror and seat adjustments, and more. CarFit is not a driver assessment, but rather a public education program centered on person-to-vehicle fit. Have fun with other volunteers while learning and helping seniors! Volunteers will attend a 4-hour training, and then help with ongoing CarFit events as their schedule allows. Mileage reimbursement and other RSVP benefits available.
