Education

Our Education services provide students with alternative opportunities for academic success so that they may lead successful lives in their homes and community

Services include

  • Charter School Authorizing

    Authorization for Minnesota charter schools who provide successful learning opportunities to students in small, educationally creative settings. Authorization includes strong oversight, accountability and resources to help charter schools succeed.

  • VOA Adult High School

    Offers learners age 21 years or older the opportunity to acquire English skills and earn a high school diploma.

  • VOA High School

    A state-approved alternative program serving Minneapolis Public School students. We offer a smaller educational setting, supportive environment, and credit make-up opportunities.

Teacher resources

  • Continuing Education Unit Committee

    A state-approved committee that approves continuing education clock hours for the re-licensing of teachers of Volunteers of America-Minnesota alternative and specialty schools, as well as charter schools sponsored by Volunteers of America-Minnesota.
