Assessment

Our experienced, compassionate team offers assessments to help guide what comes next.

Individualized Treatment Plans

Every person is unique. Our dedicated team always keeps the voice and unique needs of the people they serve at the center of care plans.

Build a hopeful path forward

Everyone needs help sometimes and seeking help is a sign of resilience and strength. People struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, family conflict, grief, traumatic events, attachment issues, suicidal ideation, and self-harm behaviors often need support to move forward. Vona’s Telehealth and Clinic Services can help.

Our multidisciplinary team is made up of dedicated professionals who are committed to helping build a hopeful path forward. The team includes child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrists, licensed psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health practitioners, and psychiatric nurse specialists.

Every person is unique, which is why we never use a one-size-fits-all approach. A therapist works with each client to identify and establish a care plan that is adapted to fit the individual needs of the person. For clients who are minors, the therapist will work with the client’s parent or legal guardian will also participate in the treatment planning process.

Our therapists can help with:

  • Learning to cope with stress and difficult emotions
  • Improving relationships
  • Reducing the risk of hospitalization
  • Re-engaging in activities like school, work, volunteering, and socializing

Our Services

This is an in-depth meeting that is conducted by a mental health provider and proceeds all clinical services to understand an individual’s current life situation, summary of personal life story, current mental health symptoms or diagnoses, and history of mental health and/or chemical health problems. A preliminary screening may also be completed for depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and cognitive functioning with recommendations for follow-up testing as needed.

Based on the individual’s strengths and goals, the therapist will summarize the findings and provide options for treatment.

This is one-on-one “talk therapy” between the client and the therapist, who work together toward mutually identified goals. Goals promote the client’s emotional well-being and build stability.

This is “talk therapy” between the client, therapist, and one or more members of the participant’s family, such as a spouse, children, or grandchildren. Together, they work toward identified goals to strengthen family interactions and support the emotional well-being of all present.

Family therapy may work concurrently with individual therapy.

This is “talk therapy” for three or more people who—because of their emotional, behavioral, or social challenges—can gain a mutual benefit from interactions in a group setting. Together, they work toward identified goals to support the emotional well-being of all present.

This is a face-to-face interview with a psychologist to determine the status of a person’s mental, intellectual, and emotional functioning.

Psychiatric Assessment is a face-to-face interview with a psychiatric prescriber to assess and diagnose a person’s current life situation, sources of stress, current functioning, current symptoms, history of mental health challenges, and recommendations for treatment. Recommendations may include medication, psychotherapy, or both.

If medication is recommended, ongoing appointments with a psychiatric prescriber can be offered to monitor the effectiveness of medication treatment.

Intensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy serves people who may not have been helped by traditional psychotherapy and who may have multiple mental health diagnoses, have an emerging personality disorder, or experience serious challenges regulating their emotions and behavior effectively. People who struggle to regulate emotions and behavior may present with suicidal thinking, self-harm, addiction, difficulty with anger/rage, chronic depression and anxiety, eating disorders, intense shame, and/or unresolved trauma.

DBT offers weekly individual therapy, phone coaching, and individual skills training. Services are provided by therapists who are specially trained and experienced in DBT best practices.

This is an intensive mental health service to support children who display significant emotional and behavioral concerns and who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who are returning from out-of-home placement. Services support both the child and their family with skill sessions and psychotherapy. Treatment plans are individualized and determined by a diagnostic assessment.
