Omegon Aftercare Pilot Partners with Medica Foundation for Youth Success
Minnetonka – October 9, 2019 – What’s more difficult for a teen than spending months in a residential treatment center battling the twin demons of mental illness and chemical dependency? Too often, the answer is “coming home.” Volunteers of America MN and WI is proud to announce that a partnership with Medica Foundation to pilot an innovative aftercare model for youth leaving Omegon Residential Treatment Center is off to a great start!

Paula Hart, President and CEO and Volunteers of America Minnesota/Wisconsin will Retire from her Position in October
Minneapolis – July 11, 2019 — Volunteers of America (VOA) – Minnesota/Wisconsin announced today that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Paula Hart, 64, will retire from her position in October 2019 in order to move near family in Texas. A national search will be conducted for her successor and an interim CEO will be named no later than the end of October.

Minnesota Department of Human Resources Honors Volunteers of America - MN for its Work in Health Equity With Circle of Excellence Award
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) this week conferred one of its top honors on Volunteers of America – Minnesota (VOA-MN) — the Commissioner’s Circle of Excellence Award. Commissioner Emily Piper presented the award at the DHS offices in St. Paul.

Volunteers of America-Minnesota and Wisconsin (VOA-MN/WI), a nonprofit health and human services organization, announced two key leadership appointments. Anna Petersmeyer will become Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Sarah Fjelstul has accepted the role of Vice President of Finance.

Paula Hart one of 10 nonprofit heads among Minnesota’s 50 Over 50
AARP Minnesota and Pollen named Paula Hart, President and Chief Executive Officer of Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin, among the 2017 “50 Over 50” in Minnesota. She is one of the 10 nonprofit leaders to receive the distinction. “I am honored to be recognized among such an outstanding group of Minnesota leaders,” Hart said after the announcement. “I share this honor with all 800 colleagues at Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin, who help people gain self-reliance, dignity and hope every day.” AARP Minnesota is an organization with more than 650,000 members – and Pollen is an online community of 10,000 actively engaged civic-connectors, entrepreneurs and community-builders.
